Research is about the future – about a brighter, safer and healthier future for us all and for generations to come. Our research focuses on improving the prevention, treatment and diagnosis of some of the greatest health issues that face our community, including chronic disease, obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and mental health. Our funding challenges include: Research equipment; introducing new research programs; building increased research capacity; and establishing an endowment fund, which will lead to a sustainable institute. Currently a significant number of Asian researchers are working across SAHMRI’s seven themes of research. Collaborations are also taking place with a number of Asian institutes and we expect these will expand over time.

I attended the Asia In SA 2015 dinner and it is most enjoyable and fun evening that I have for along time. The food was superb and the renowned chefs are brilliant and the matching of the wine is excellent. I am already looking forward to your next event.

Patrick Ho

HKABA-SA

I worked with the team from Asia in SA on this inaugural event with Susan and Gerald at Intercontinental to sponsoring it from Adelaide Casino with Roslyn Foo to being part of the SAHMRI fundraising committee that part funds were donated to and later attending it as a guest. The passion of those involved, their desire to engage and raise much needed funds to be congratulated. Unique events of this level are hard work and if year one is anything to measure, Adelaide guests have much to look forward to as do the recipients of the funds.
